Shirley A. Fox, 88, of Tilden Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 in her residence. She was the wife of Earl J. Fox, Jr. They were married on December 20, 1969 and celebrated fifty-six years of marriage.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Dougherty. Shirley was a 1958 graduate of Conrad Weiser High School where she was a majorette in the high school marching band. She was employed at the American Hotel Coffee Shop for ten years. Shirley then worked for the Hamburg Area School District as an aide for thirty-two years, retiring in 2007. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp., where she served on council, fundraising committees, service coordinator and church choir.
Surviving in addition to her husband Earl is her daughter: Jacqueline E. (Fox), wife of John Scalia, Elverson; step-sons: James E. Fox, husband of Jody, Auburn; Jesse E. Fox, Lebanon; Jay E. Fox, Houston, Texas; and Jordan E. Fox, St. Clair; and four grandchildren: Mareena and Mannie Scalia; and Joshua and Jared Fox.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am at St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Michael's Church Memorial Fund, at the above address.
