Sharon L. Nunan, 67, of Penn Twp., passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Ronald T. McGettigan. They were married on May 12, 1992 and celebrated thirty years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond V., Jr. and Eva V. (Atchison) Edwards. Sharon was a 1973 graduate of Ridley High School. She was a payroll clerk for Hygrade Food Products, Philadelphia, for twenty-four years, retiring in 1997. From 1986-1996, Sharon owned and operated Goose Relief, a goose deterrent service, in Boothwyn, PA. She was a member of the Northeast Border Collie Association. Sharon enjoyed taking care of the farm she shared with her husband.
Surviving in addition to her husband is her siblings: Cynthia A. Edwards, Folsom; Raymond V. Edwards, III, Holmes; and Eva V. (Edwards) Manley, Garnet Valley; Ronald's son: Ronald T. McGettigan, Jr., husband of Anita, Springfield; two grandchildren: Ava McGettigan and Ronald T. McGettingan, III; and a great-grandson: Thomas McAllister Devlin; Ronald's brothers: James Kevin Chambers, husband of Eileen, Cape May, NJ; and their daughters Amaya and Stephanie Farrell; Richard Chambers, husband of Juliane E., Stratford, NJ; and their daughters: Kimberly and Julianne; a sister in law: Lorraine Chambers, and her children: John Chambers, Jr., and Catherine L. Chambers; and a niece: Kristin. She is also survived by her border collies, chihuahuas, cats, and her african grey. Sharon was predeceased by Ronald's brothers: Bobby Chambers, partner of Mark O'Connor; Peter; and John Chambers.
A viewing will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, followed by a graveside service at Bern Cemetery, Bern Twp.
