Shane Mikel Reed, 35, of South Manheim Twp., Schuylkill County, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on Thursday, June 30, 2022 in his residence.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Ben Mikel Reed, husband of Jeremiah C. Neighbors, South Manheim Twp., and Cindy K. (Ernst) Reed, Strausstown. Shane graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 2004, and later received a Bachelor's Degree in History with a minor in Anthropology from Kutztown University. He worked in the construction field, working for Irish Creek Excavating. Shane was a family man and loved his kids. He enjoyed hiking, nature, and gardening, he loved to make things grow. Along with enjoying spending time with his girlfriend Jess; he was a history buff, hockey fan and loved to play video games online with his friends in the United Kingdom.

Surviving in addition to his parents is a son: Wes Mikel Reed, and a daughter: Wynter Rose Reed, both of Hamburg; two brothers: Brent Mikel Reed, Strausstown, and Drew Mikel Reed, South Manheim Twp., and a half-brother: Chase W. Albrecht, Cheverly, Maryland. He is also survived by a niece: Izabella Rose Reed, Strausstown; Jeremiah's parents: Chris Neighbors, Dewar, OK, Candy and James Grundza, Birdsboro; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents: Ralph and Shirley Ernst, and his paternal grandparents: Odie and Anna Reed along with Jeremiah's step mother Dorothy M. Neighbors.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
