Ruth A. Spatz, 82, formerly of Windsor Twp., died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp., where she was a patient since March 3. She was taken there from ManorCare, Laureldale, where she resided for three years. She previously resided at Grandview Assisted Living, Fleetwood. Her husband, Robert M. Spatz, Sr., died January 9, 2001.

Born in Lehigh County, she was the daughter of the late Alvin H. and Emily I. (Swoyer) Wessner. Ruth worked as a sewing maching operator for Berknit, and then Windsor Knitting Mill, Hamburg, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. Ruth enjoyed cooking and baking.

Surviving is one son: Robert M., Jr., husband of Kathy J. (Schaeffer) Spatz, Tilden Twp.; three daughters: Donna M. (Spatz), wife of Larry L. Yoder, Manheim, Lancaster Co.; Janet R. (Spatz), wife of Nevin B. Savage, Upper Bern Twp.; and Lori J. (Spatz), wife of Steven R. Snyder, Ruscombmanor Twp.; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: Lester A. Wessner, Windsor Twp.; and three sisters: Bertha M. (Wessner) Hoffman, Oley; Dorothy E. (Wessner) Dougherty, Windsor Twp.; and Mabel M. (Wessner) Stopp, Richmond, Twp. Ruth was predeceased by a daughter: Linda A. (Spatz), wife of Donald W. Glass.

Services will be on Monday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp.
