Ruth M. Snyder, 101, formerly of Ontelaunee Twp., a resident at Berks Heim, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 in Berks Heim. She was the wife of the late Luke M. Snyder, died May 5, 2004.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Solon M. and Nellie (Ahrens) Kunkleman. She graduated from Ontelaunee High School in 1939. She was a member of the former Trinity UCC, Leesport. She went to Bryland Beauty School, Reading and later worked as a hairdresser, a sales representative at Boscov's, and a member of the tip staff at Berks County Courthouse for about 15 years, retiring in 1985. She was a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and member of the women's guild. She always enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, and reading. Ruth enjoyed family trips to wildwood, and bus trips with her husband. She loved assisting to raise her grandchildren.

She is survived by four children: David A. Snyder, husband of Myra I. (Miller), Maidencreek Township, Richard L. Snyder, husband of Susan A. (Denner), Centre Twp., Mary Ann (Snyder) Bowman, wife of Russell C., Bern Twp., and Howard L. Snyder, husband of Kathleen (Wolfe), Bern Twp.; five grandchildren: Megan, Amanda, Travis, Kate, and Lauren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother: Howard A. Kunkleman.

Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11:00 am in Leesport Cemetery. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Leesport is in charge of arrangements.
