Ruth E. Seaman, 89, of Hamburg, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. She was the wife of Irvin R. "Flop" Seaman, who died on April 10, 1994.

Born in Port Clinton, she was the daughter of the late Lewis A. and Estella A. (Steely) Madenfort. She was a 1943 graduate of Hamburg High School. Ruth worked as a bank teller for twenty-one years for the former Core-States Bank, now Wells Fargo, retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Ruth was also a member of Blue Mountain Chapter #443 Order of Eastern Star, Hamburg. Spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought Ruth great joy.

Surviving are two sons: Jerry D. Seaman, Hamburg; and Richard A. "Sam" Seaman, husband of Marcia (Gruver) Seaman, Tilden Twp.; one daughter: Cathy A. (Seaman), wife of Pat T. Williamson, Athens, Alabama; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Ruth is also survived by one sister: Madeline L. (Madenfort) Evans, a guest at Manatawny Manor, Pottstown. She was predeceased by two brothers: James and Lewis Madenfort; and two sisters: Doris (Madenfort) Knoblauch; and Lois (Madenfort) Brown.

Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S.4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
