Ruth E.
Marsteller
October 27, 1923 – October 24, 2025
Ruth E. Marsteller, 101 and three days short of her 102nd birthday, formerly of Upper Macungie Twp., passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025 in Country Meadows, Allentown. She was the wife of Edwin C. Marsteller, who died March 7, 2011.
Born in Weisenberg Twp., Lehigh Co., she was the daughter of the late Adam N. and Clara A. (Leibensperger) Bleiler. Ruth was a 1941 graduate of Kutztown High School and the former Allentown Business College in 1943. She also graduated from the former Joyce Art School of Cosmetology. Ruth was a beautician and worked at the former A.B. Meat Company, Allentown. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Old Zionsville. Ruth was also a member of East Penn Chapter #336 Order of Eastern Star, Trexlertown Grange, and a leader of the Trexlertown 4-H Club for thirty-five years.
Ruth was an avid sewer, crocheter, quilter and crafter. Every member of her family has at least one afghan and quilt. Ruth was a master card player and excelled at Pinochle. Ruth and Ed enjoyed traveling and went on many "mystery trips" over the years.
She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Ruth is survived by her children: Bonita R. (Marsteller) Markle, wife of Lawrence, Bel Air, Maryland; Emery A. Marsteller, husband of Audrey, Schnecksville; and Annette M. (Marsteller), wife of Robert Chellis, Valhalla, New York; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister: Evelyn J. Roberts, Allentown. Ruth was predeceased by four brothers: Richard S. Bleiler, Nevin M. Bleiler, Harold P. Bleiler and Edgar F. Bleiler.
Services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 11:30 am at Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5901 Kings Hwy S, Old Zionsville, PA 18068. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. A viewing will be held in the church on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the church at the above address or to an animal rescue organizaiton of your choice.
