Roy L. Hunsicker, 100, of Hamburg, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. He was the husband of Grace L. (Reppert) Hunsicker, who died on April 14, 2009.
Born in Lenhartsville on April 19, 1915, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Annie M. (Levan) Hunsicker. He was a 1934 graduate of Slatington High School. Roy was a self-employed building contractor, operating Roy L. Hunsicker, Inc. His motto was "Builder of Quality Houses". Roy was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. He was also a member of Kempton Rod and Gun Club and beneficial association; Hamburg Game Association; and Union Fire Co. #1, Hamburg and beneficial association. Roy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and traveling with his wife. He was very proud of his entire family.
Roy is survived by three daughters: Sandra A. (Hunsicker), wife of Martin L. Christman, Hamburg; Carol G. (Hunsicker), wife of Arthur G. Burkert, Lenhartsville; and Diane A. Hunsicker, wife of Mark J. Flanagan, Centreville, Virginia; nine grandchildren: Michele R., wife of Dr. Jed Seitzinger; Jeffrey M. Christman; David R. Christman, and his wife Robin; Christine D., wife of Tobyn Wysocki; Kevin A. Burkert, and his wife Bridgid; Gary L. Burkert, and his wife Zena; Kristen D. Flanagan; Stephen M. Flanagan; and Haley Hunsicker Flanagan; and ten great-grandchildren: Austin J. and Courtney M. Seitzinger; Abigail S. and Hannah I. Christman; Theo K. and Grace S. Wysocki; Brooke A. and Christian A. Burkert; and Elle J. and Evan R. Burkert.
Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. Michael's Church Memorial Fund at the above address.
