Ronald J. Metzler, 59, of Leesport, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in the Reading Hospital. Born in Lancaster, Ron was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Stokes) Metzler. He was a 1969 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Ron owned and operated 61 Brew Thru in Leesport for six years. He previously worked as a service manager for Kutztown Auto for 25 years. Ron is survived by one son: Robert L. Metzler, companion of Nikki Lazarus, Dauberville; four sisters: Linda Metzler and Debbie Metzler, both of Blandon; Pat Metzler, Tuckerton; and Jeannie Metzler, Frackville; and his former wife: Joanne M. (Hafer) Metzler, Ontelaunee Twp. Ron was predeceased by a sister: Roberta Metzler. A Time for Sharing Memories of Ron will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 10:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
