Robert P. Wennerholt, Jr., 61, of Hamburg, passed away at his home on Monday, April 28, 2014. Born on January 8, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert P. Wennerholt and Jeannette Valentino. Known as Bobby or Bob to his friends and family, he grew up around the Philadelphia area. As a kid, he enjoyed shooting hoops and playing ball outside the school yard. As he matured, Robert scored a job at the local navy yard as an electrician and moved onto odd jobs as time went on. He enjoyed painting and going to see the sights. He also loved Italian cooking, but nothing could compare to his mothers. Robert was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Robert is survived by his two children: Stephen and Jeannette Wennerholt; two sisters: Donna, wife of Vernon Lanham and Christine Powell; his former wife: Christine Wennerholt, Hamburg; and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg. A visitation with family will be held on Saturday 1:00-2:30 pm.
