Robert S. "Bert" Railing, 68, of Sunbury, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Harrisburg, Bert was a son of the late John R. Railing and Doris J. (Katz) Railing. He was a 1975 graduate of Central Dauphin High School. Bert recently retired following a 50-year career with Giant Food Stores, where he worked as a manager. His long tenure was a testament to his dedication and strong work ethic. Music was a tremendous part of Bert's life. A talented musician since his teenage years, he played both bass and acoustic guitar. For the past four years, he performed with The Whoo Haas, sharing his love of music with his bandmates and others. When he wasn't playing music, Bert enjoyed working around his house and could often be found with a Fender guitar nearby-one of his favorite things in the world. Bert will be remembered for his wicked sense of humor, his love of a good beer and a good laugh, and, above all, his devotion to his family. He was a dedicated and loving father who took great pride in his daughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie C.E. (Railing) Clark, wife of David M. Clark, of Milborne Port, England; two sisters, Leslie (Railing) Knepp, wife of David, Dauphin, and Pamela (Railing) Mihalov, widow of Bob Mihalov, of Dillsburg; his former wives, Geri M. (Bobinis) Heck, of Leesport, and Sue Hollenbach, of Kramer, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
