Robert J. Moseman, 88, of Spring Twp., died Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in ManorCare, Sinking Spring. He was the husband of Estelle V. (Vann) Moseman, who died February 12, 2012.
Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, he was the son of the late William and Rose (Wohlfarth) Moseman. He was a graduate of Hunter High School, Hunter, New York. Robert attended Trinity College before enlisting in the service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Following the service, Robert continued his education and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Troy, NY on June 10, 1950. He also attended Drew University in 1960. Throughout his career, Robert worked as a metallurgist engineer and also in management positions. He worked for Bethlehem Steel in Buffalo, New York in the 1950's and 1960's, followed by National Rubber in Canton, Ohio in the early 1960's, and later for Textile Machinery, then Rockwell International in the mid-1960's to mid-1970's. Robert and his wife Estelle would then move to Albertville, Alabama, where he worked as a consultant for the Rockefeller Foundation from 1978-2001. His work would take him oversees to South Korea and Mexico. Robert also worked for many years for H&R Block preparing taxes.
Robert was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wyomissing. He was a driver for the residents of Rittenhouse Senior Living, Reading; and while living in Alabama, he delivered Meals On Wheels. Robert was a member of the Reading Foundry Association where he once served as president. Earlier in life, he was an avid golfer and then in his later years, enjoyed playing tennis. Robert also enjoyed fishing and painting.
Robert is survived by two sons: Gary R. Moseman, and his wife Sarah, Wyomissing; and Craig R. Moseman, and his wife Terri, Tilden Twp.; four grandchildren: Andy, Libby, Sam and Eliza; and two great-grandchildren: Ryan and Katie.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Tannersville Evergreen Cemetery, Hunter, New York. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Berks Encore, for the Meals On Wheels program, 40 N. Ninth Street, Reading, PA 19601.
