August 15, 1929 – September 24, 2025
Robert C. "Flep" Werley, 96, formerly of Shoemakersville, a resident at Maidencreek Place, died Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp. He was the husband of the late Joanna L. "Toot" (Hepner) Werley, she died January 20, 2020.
Born in Penn Twp., he was the son of the late Charles H. and Verna I. (Burkey) Werley. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked for 38 years for Carpenter Steel before retiring. He enjoyed going to casinos and the races, and he was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a member of Shoemakersville Fire Company and the Goodwill Beneficial Association.
He is survived by his children: Michael A. Werley, husband of Virginia, Hamburg; Daryl G. Werley, widower of Janice, Shoemakersville; Sheryle J., wife of Scott Delewski, Hamburg; and Crystal J., wife of Kevin Koehn, Windsor Twp.; four grandchildren: Bailey Koehn (Ashtyn), Joel Werley (Yukie), Lauren Werley-Wolf (Richard); and Trisha Reinert (Wes); and five great-grandchildren: Landon and Everett Wolf, Eli Reinert (Morgan), Julia Werley, and Ivy Koehn, and one on the way; and a great-great grandchild: Josie Reinert. He is also survived by his sisters: Mary Anspach, Miriam Mohn, and Evelyn Miller. He was predeceased by a granddaughter: Marci Delewski; his brothers: George, Howard, and Leon Werley; and a sister: Anna Bagenstose.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in St. Luke's Cemetery, Shoemakersville. A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the funeral home on Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Shoemakersville Fire Company, 300 Church Avenue, Shoemakersville, PA 19555.
