Robert K. Bergey, 54, of Port Clinton, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 in his residence. He was the husband of Carol A. (McAnally) Bergey. They were married on October 9, 1982 and celebrated thirty-three years of marriage.
Born in Salem, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Robert A. and Marlyn (Pompper) Bergey. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the Army National Guard. Robert worked as a construction worker for thirty years for Rubright Concrete Construction, Shoemakersville, last working October 2015. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing cards, working and going to lunch with his friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters: Christina L. Bergey, Hamburg; Lisa M. Bergey, wife of Todd J. Skoraszewski, Port Clinton; Jennifer A. Bergey, St. Clair; and Ashley E. (Bergey), wife of Timothy L. Vidal, Cumbola; and eleven grandchildren. Robert is also survived by two sisters: Patty Hall and Sharon Bergey; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Kenneth and Barry; and one sister: Linda.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
