IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph L.
Groff
August 14, 1930 – April 22, 2024
Ralph L. Groff, 93, of Tilden Twp., passed away Monday, April 22, 2024 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Grace S. (Kline) Groff, died September 1, 2021.
Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Lester T. and Evelyn (Steinmetz) Groff. He worked as a welder at DANA, retiring in 1996; and also had worked at Glen Gery Brick as a laborer. He was a quiet, hardworking man who truly would have done anything for anyone. He spoke his mind (most times too loudly). Up until 4 years ago, he was busy, always doing something. He worked countless jobs, was his wife's chauffeur and served in The US Army in Korea- though he would tell you he really didn't do the dirty work and spent a year skiing in Austria. He walked and rode his bicycle well into his 80's. He became a crossing guard for the Shoey kids and would often help them walk home from school. In recent years, his eyes lit up when he would talk about his kids, grandkids and great grandkids, a true sign of a life well lived. The loss in our lives will be greatly felt but we know that Heaven just got one of the best. And there is no doubt that when he got where he was going this morning, Grace was waiting for him saying "Come on Ralph, what took you so long?"
He is survived by his children: Michael S. Groff, widower of Linda (Fox) Groff, Rockland Twp.; and Bonnie L. (Groff) Bailey, wife of Kerry Bailey, Tilden Twp.; two grandchildren: Tabitha (Bailey) Seitzinger, wife of Cole Seitzinger; and Travis Bailey, husband of Megan (Brownmiller) Bailey; and three great-grandchildren: Layton, Karsen and Gracie Seitzinger. He is also survived by a sister: Gloria (Groff) Kauffman, a resident at Phoebe Berks; and his feline companion T.G. He was predeceased by siblings: Carl and Robert Groff; Verna (Groff) Reimert, and Joyce (Groff) Peters.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
