Phyllis F. Althouse, 72, of Reading, died Monday, July 9, 2012 in Hawthorne House. She is survived by her loving son, Keith M. Althouse, Hamburg. Born in Richmond Twp, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Eva (Prutzman) Stump. She attended Kutztown University where she earned a bachelor's and a master's degree in library science. She was employed by different schools in the area as a librarian until she retired. Phyllis was a member of the Bach Choir, Bethlehem, where she enjoyed singing and traveling the East Coast. Surviving in addition to her son are two brothers; Gene Stump, and Stewart Stump, both of Kutztown; and one sister: Elaine (Stump) Schappell, Wernersville.
