Philip G. Staudt, 77, of Centre Twp. died Friday, January 16, 2015 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp. He was the husband of Darlene F. (Rump) Staudt, they were married October 7, 1961 and celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Born in Stouchsburg, he was the son of the late Quinten F. and Sarah S. (Gerhart) Staudt. He was a graduate of Wernersville High School Class of 1955, and Delaware Valley College Class of 1960. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Luke's Union Church, Shoemakersville. Phil was employed as an Agronomic Products Inspector for Pennsylvania Department of Argriculture for 16 years, retiring in 2004. He was a partner in Swope and Bashore farm equipment in Frystown for 20 years prior. Phil was a member of Vaux Masonic Lodge No. 406 F& A.M., Rajah Shrine Temple, and Reading Consistory. He was a member and former treasurer of Lost Creek Rod & Gun Club, McAllisterville, PA, former member, secretary, past president, and Paul Harris Fellow of Shoemakersville-Leesport Rotary Club. Phil was very involved at church as well, serving as Sunday School Treasurer, Lutheran Church Treasurer, and member of Church Council. He was also a current member of the Church Choir at St. Luke's. He was a former member of Centre Twp. Zoning Hearing Board.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children; a son: Wayne P. husband of Susan L. (Schmucker) Staudt, Coatesville; and two daughters: Cynthia L. Staudt, Clermont, FL; and Sheryl A. (Staudt) wife of John Bradley, Frisco, TX; and four grandchildren: Samantha and Amber Staudt, and Andrew and Ryan Bradley. Phil is survived by three brothers: Quinten F. Staudt, Jr. husband of Lottie, West Virginia; William C. Staudt husband of Melanie A., Wernersville; and Douglas L. Staudt husband of Bonita, Wernversville.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12 noon from St. Luke's Union Church, 5th and Franklin Streets, Shoemakersville. A visitation will be held from 11:00 to 12 noon in the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
