Phelma C. Hinderliter, 91, formerly of Edenburg, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 in Greenwood Center, Hometown. She was the wife of John C. "Jack" Hinderliter, who died August 3, 2004.

Born in Phineyville, Schuylkill Co., she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Cora E.J. (DeLong) Clark. Phelma was a graduate of East Union Township High School.

Phelma worked as a secretary for KBI and NGK until her retirement. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg, where she was choir director and organist

for over twenty years. She was also involved in the church musicals and gave piano lessons. Phelma was a private student of Dr. Ness of the Philadelphia Academy of Music organ department.

Phelma is survived by her children: Lynn M. (Hinderliter) Canty, widow of Michael, Bloomsburg; Judy A. (Hinderliter) Bingaman, Hometown; and Glenn S. Hinderliter, husband of Terri,

Allentown; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son: Larry J. Hinderliter; a great-grandson; and siblings:

Elias, Bernard, Cyrus, Martha, Beatrice and Dorothy.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 11:00 am at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 Church Street, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Ringtown. A viewing will be held

in the church Saturday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, at the above address. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
