Pearl Jean Lengel, 90, of Hamburg, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 in her residence. She was the wife of Howard W. Lengel, Jr., died October 6, 2014. Howard and Pearl Jean were happily married August 5, 1953, and celebrated over 60 years of marriage. Born in Shartlesville, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Minerva (Rentschler) Wehr. She was a member of Frieden's Church, Shartlesville. She graduated from Hamburg High School in 1944, and later from Empire Beauty College in 1945. Pearl Jean owned and operated Pearl Jean's Beauty Shoppe, Hamburg for over 60 years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling. Pearl Jean was always known for "having a plan." Pearl Jean is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother: Leon Wehr; and two sisters: May Marie (Wehr) Potteiger, and Doris Minerva (Wehr) Deitzler. Services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:30 am from Frieden's Church, 28 Wolf Creek Rd., Bernville, PA 19506. Burial will follow in Bern Cemetery, Bern Twp. A viewing will be held Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off-street parking in rear); and Saturday from 10:30 to 11:15 am in the church.
