Pauline L. Schenk, "Polly", 83, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022 after a tragic accident. She was the wife of Walter P. Schenk, who died September 7, 2008.
Born in Bern Twp., she was the daughter of the late Walter B. and Katie A. (Strause) Zimmerman. Pauline was a 1957 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. She worked for Kresge's in Reading for thirty-eight years. She also worked at McCrory's and Wal-Mart. Pauline was a member of Bern Lutheran Church, Bern Twp. She was a 50-year member of AAA Reading-Berks; and a member of Pikeville Sportsmen's Association; Central Berks Fire Company and beneficial association; and The Bear Den.
Pauline is survived by a brother: Arthur W. Zimmerman; and four nieces: Joan, Cindy, Linda and Diane. She was predeceased by her daughter: Waldene A. Schenk, who died December 24, 1963; a brother: Harold Zimmerman; and a niece: Bonnie (Zimmerman) Bowers.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Bern Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 am. For online condolences, please visit, www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com.
