Obituary

Paul E. Wesner, Sr., 82, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 in his residence. He was the husband of Mary A. (Sandridge) Pickel Noecker Wesner. Born in Centerport, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Dorothy M. (Hollenbach) Wesner. He worked for Glen-Gery Corporation, Perry Twp., from 1952 until retiring in 1993. Paul was a former firefighter for Union Fire Company No. 1, Hamburg; a former Hamburg Fire Policeman; and a former driver for the Hamburg Ambulance for fifteen years. He was a member of Union Fire Company No.1 and beneficial association, Hamburg. Paul enjoyed playing cards and word search books. Surviving in addition to his wife are one son: Paul E. Wesner, Jr., Auburn; three daughters: Barbara A., wife of Paul Turner, Windsor Twp.; Susan J., wife of Thomas Moyer, Centre Twp.; and Brenda L., wife of Gereon Schlear, Wyomissing; four step-sons: Robert G. Pickel, Ogden, Utah; Ronald L. Pickel, fiancé of Denise Travis, Bernville; William M. Pickel, husband of Pamela Pickel, Windsor Twp.; and Richard L. Pickel, fiancé of Tina DeLong, Perry Twp.; and four step-daughters: Dolores A., wife of Michael Painter, Upper Bern Twp.; Deborah J. (Pickel), wife of Jesse Spence, Jr., Tilden Twp.; Tina A., wife of Jose Romero, Shillington; and Donna M., wife of Ronald Filarski, Shamokin. Paul is also survived by twenty-five grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; one brother: Charles S. Wesner, Shoemakersville; and two sisters: Florence M. Deisher, Centerport; and Ruth V. Seidel, Lenhartsville. He was predeceased by a son: Charles C. Wesner, died January 12, 2013; and one step-daughter: Darlene E. Timmons, died October 30, 2010. Paul will be missed by his beloved pet: Romeo. Services will be held on Sunday at 8:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be private in Birch Hill Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Sunday 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
