Paul V. Nave, Jr., 74, of Shoemakersville, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 23, 2013 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp.
Born in Upper Darby, he was the son of the late Paul V., Sr., and Pauline M. (Walsh) Nave. He was a 1958 graduate of Hamburg High School. Paul was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient and received the Navy Achievement Medal. Paul had more than thirty years of military service and retired from the U.S. military in 1999. He worked in management for many years for General Battery Corporation, Laureldale, retiring from Exide Corporation. Paul was raised in the Catholic faith. He loved driving and crossword puzzles. Paul was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Boston Red Sox, and Penn State Football.
Paul is survived by one son: Paul V. Nave, III, Shoemakersville and with whom he resided; one daughter: Milinda "Mindy" S. (Nave), wife of Robert Clement, Bern Twp.; two granddaughters: Clarissa and Elizabeth; a step-grandson: David; and a brother: Francis A. Nave, and his wife Cherelyn, Upper Bern Twp. He was predeceased by a sister: Grace V. Reed.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 10:30 am from St. Mary R.C. Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. A visitation with the family will be held at the church Tuesday 10:00 to 10:30 am.
