Obituary

Paul T. Gromlich, 88, of Reading, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara A. (Sematis) Gromlich, for sixty years. Together, they had a wonderful marriage. Barbara predeceased Paul on November 7, 2025, which was also his birthday.

Born in Hamburg, Paul was the son of the late Frank and Beatrice (Sunday) Gromlich. He first worked at Reading Aviation Airport for twenty years spray painting airplanes. Paul then worked as a correctional officer at the Berks County Prison for twenty years. There he was known to say, "The Tower is Now Secure." After retiring from the prison, Paul owned and operated Economy Used Cars for twenty years.

Paul enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and watching his sports. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles.

Paul is survived by his daughter: Michelle Gromlich, fiancee of Dennis Deiter, Jr. and their cat Tinkerbell, who always put a smile on his face; step-son: Mark Gromlich, wife Kim, and children: Brielle and Evan and their children.
