Paul W. Bubbenmoyer, 68, of Hamburg, died Monday, August 22, 2016 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Bausher) Bubbenmoyer. They were married July 25, 1970 and celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of William Bubbenmoyer, Hamburg and Iva (Schappell) Correll, Windsor Twp, and the step son of Anna (Keim) Bubbenmoyer, Hamburg and the late Raymond Correll. He graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1966 and was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam war. Paul fought the effects of Agent Orange from a young age, after being exposed in Vietnam. He worked as a dyer at Wolfe Dye & Bleach, Shoemakersville, later as a cement worker for T.C. Miller, Hamburg, and lastly as Shipping/ Receiving Manager for GPU, Bern Twp., retiring in 2001. He was a member of Shoemakersville Senior Citizens, and People over 50. He enjoyed bowling in leagues at Hoffman Lanes, Hamburg, enjoyed his 50 + train sets, radio controlled vehicles, and enjoyed building miniature houses for his train sets. He was a huge Jeff Gordon fan. Paul enjoyed traveling to dinner theaters and casinos with his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and father-in-law.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents is a son: Jeffrey P., husband of Holly L. (Gehman) Bubbenmoyer, Hamburg; a daughter: Julie A. Bubbenmoyer, Hamburg; seven grandchildren: Tyler P., husband of Ashley A. (Ulsh) Bubbenmoyer, Austin N. Bubbenmoyer, Connor L. Kunkle, Nicholas R. Wegman, Jessica M. (Mull) wife of Christopher Gerhart, Heather N. Mull, and David A. Mull; and a great-granddaughter: Natalie. He is also survived by a god-daughter: Jennifer (Brown) wife of Eric Wegman, Oley; a brother: Bryan L. husband of Denise (Turner) Bubbenmoyer, Hamburg; a sister: Patricia (Correll) wife of Robert Merkt, Tilden Twp., another brother, and a son-in-law: Dustin A. Kunkle. Paul is also survived by many special friends. He was predeceased by two children: Jared P. Bubbenmoyer, died February 5, 1971, and Jessica A. Bubbenmoyer, died March 13, 1979, and a sister: Louise Bubbenmoyer.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 7:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (off street parking in rear). Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. A viewing will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
