Obituary

Patricia A. Easterbrook, of Centre Twp., passed away at the age of 80 on July 17, 2025 after living a very love-filled life. She was the beloved wife of David A. Easterbrook. They were married March 7, 1964 and celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Arietta A. (Heckman) Kunkel.

Growing up in the Waterloo area of Hamburg, PA with her two brothers, Patty was very adventurous at heart. You could always find her tubing down by the river or roller skating into town. In her younger years, she got her thrills from Jeep racing, family camping trips at Knoebels and summer car shows. She was also always cooking, doing crafts, going to automotive flea markets, volunteering at the Mohrsville playground program and sewing. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. Her main job was being a mom, but she worked for various places in the area such as General Battery, USPS, and Cabela's. Later in life, she was always an avid reader, reading books faster than anyone. She also loved her TV, especially her soaps, Westerns, games shows, and Hallmark movies. Add an Italian "sammich" and some cherry crumb pie in there and she was a very happy lady. Anywhere she went, she ran into people she knew; They all appreciated her caring spirit.

Surviving in addition to her husband are many other members from her big family. To her four daughters: Michele L. (Easterbrook) Mahoney, wife of Darrin, Sinking Spring, Kellean R. (Easterbrook) McGee, Alsace Twp., Angela R. (Easterbrook) Rothermel, wife of Rodney, Centre Twp., and Ryan M. (Easterbrook) Willman, Reading, she is Mom. To her twelve grandchildren: Taylor, Devon, Madison, Daniel, Adam, Maranda, Hunter, River, Dalton, Alexis, Damian, and David and twelve great-grandchildren, she is Grammy. To her devoted dog, Murphy and five cats, she is Mama. She is also survived by a brother: Ronald G. Kunkel, Hamburg. She was predeceased by a brother: Jay R. Kunkel. Her family adores her and she's the glue that has always kept them together.

In lieu of flowers and because of her love of reading and her pets, please make a donation in her memory to either the Hamburg Public Library (35 N. 3rd St, Hamburg, PA 19526; 610-562-2843; hamburgpubliclibrary.org) or Humane Pennsylvania (1729 N. 11th St, Reading, PA 19604; 610-750-6100; humanepa.org)
