IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia A.
Dudash
July 15, 1940 – April 3, 2024
Patricia Ann Dudash, 83, of Shoemakersville, passed away in her residence on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-two years, William (Bill), whom she met at the former American Legion dance hall in Minersville in 1960.
Born in Pottsville on July 15, 1940, Pat was the second daughter of the late J. William and Alice K. (Parry) Brown. She always had fond memories of growing up in Pottsville and was a proud 1958 graduate of Nativity BVM High School atop Lawton's Hill.
Pat was a wonderful, sweet, and caring person who really enjoyed being around, and helping, people. Her first two jobs were in downtown Pottsville at Pomeroy's Department Store and the Schuylkill County Tuberculosis Society. After raising three children born within two and a half years, she worked at several places that she also enjoyed, including the Hamburg Center, and The Pottery, and Brush Wellman, both in Shoemakersville, before retiring from the Berks County Intermediate Unit.
Pat cherished her faith and her family and was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Hamburg. She enjoyed going to festivals and block parties, especially in the coal region, where she could hear oldies music and people watch. In her younger years, she enjoyed polka dancing and trips to Atlantic City.
Surviving in addition to her husband Bill are her three children: William M. Dudash; Mark S. Dudash; and Kathleen P. (Dudash) Guzanowski, wife of Rory J. Guzanowski; two granddaughters: Kourtni K. Guzanowski; and Chelsea K. (Guzanowski) Lukoss, wife of Aleks Lukoss; and three great-granddaughters. Pat is also survived by her siblings: Gail K. (Brown) Kesten, widow of Louis Kesten; Gerald T. Brown; and Mary Alice P. (Brown) Leskin, wife of Robert "Oscar" Leskin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers: William J. Brown and David W. Brown.
Pat's family would like to thank her private nurses and the professionals from Compassus Hospice for the time and effort they dedicated to seeing that she got a well-deserved VIP pass into Heaven.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 12:00 noon from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Drive, Hamburg.
