Orion G. "Jack" Strausser, 74, of Shoemakersville, passed away in the Reading Hospital on Saturday, July 30, 2016 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Ruth M. (Wagner) Strausser. They were married on October 24, 1964 and celebrated fifty-two years of marriage. Born at home in Shoemakersville, he was the son of the late Mark W. and Pauline (Kline) Strausser. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jack worked as a glazer for Berks Lehigh Glass Company. He enjoyed going to races and tinkering in his garage. Surviving in addition to his wife Ruth are two sons: Troy G., husband of Davier L. (Widener) Strausser, Hamburg; and Mark J., husband of Angela R. (Chinni) Strausser, Tilden Twp.; four grandchildren: Matthew G. Strausser, Jordan R. Strausser, Alexandria P. Strausser, and Shane A. Strausser; and two great-grandchildren: Leonard W. Schistle and Harper R. Strausser. Jack was predeceased by a sister: Mary Jane Stetzler. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 4:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Thursday 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Due to the road construction on S. 4th Street, please use parking and entrance in the rear of the funeral home.
