Obituary

Olive M. Dietrich, 97, of Windsor Twp., died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in her residence. She was the wife of Henry W. Dietrich, passed away October 11, 2005. Born in Windsor Twp., she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Mary C. (Snyder) Smith. She was a member of New Jerusalem Zion United Church of Christ, Greenwich Twp. Olive worked at Fleetwood Shirt Corporation, and Meyer's Canning, Temple before returning to her family farm as a farm wife. The family farm is known as Cabin Hill Farm and has been in Olive's family since 1920. She was a life member of Virginville Grange, Life member of Virginville Senior Citizens, and Life member of Hawk Mountain Civic Club. She enjoyed quilting. She quilted with the ladies at church, at the Kutztown Folk Festival, and was in charge of the quilting department at the Reading Fair as part of the Agricultural and Horticultural Association of Berks County. Olive is survived by a son: Dale D. Dietrich, Windsor Twp.; a daughter: LuAnn M. (Dietrich) wife of Roger W. Wanamaker, Lenhartsville; three grandchildren: LeAnn Shoemaker, Renee Welborn, and Jason Snyder; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild (with another expected this month); two step-grandchildren; five step-great grandchildren; and one step-great great grandchild. She was predeceased by a brother: Harvey A. Smith; and a sister: Evelyn (Smith) Hummel. Services will be held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off-street parking in rear). Burial will follow in Dunkel's Cemetery, Greenwich Twp. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home.
