Nicholas Deeter, Jr., 65, of Centre Twp., passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 in his residence. He was the husband of Lana R. (Leibensperger) Deeter. They were married June 13, 1977 and celebrated 44 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Nicholas Deeter, Sr., and Margaret V. (Seyler) Brader. He graduated from Exeter High School in 1974. Nicholas was a US Army Veteran. He worked as a correctional officer at Berks County Prison for 26 years before retirement. During retirement he spent 5 years as a Reading Hospital Security Guard. He was very interested in fitness, especially weight lifting and bicycling before he was diagnosed with IPF. He was a devout Eagles and Penn State fan. He loved his dogs, and spending time with his family and grandsons. Nicholas enjoyed attending concerts with his wife, having seen many mainstream acts, like The Who, Fleetwood Mac, and David Bowie. He enjoyed 70s, 80s, country, and rock music.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son: Jason Nicholas Deeter, husband of Deana M. (Erhard), Hershey; a daughter: Jessica L. (Deeter) Allred, wife of Jared L., Birdsboro; three grandsons: Rowan and Elliot Deeter, and Arthur Allred. He is also survived by two brothers: Richard A. Deeter, Kingston, NY, and Scott M. Brader, husband of Denise (Heintzelman), Port Clinton; his nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Bobby Palka.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Hillside SPCA, Pottsville in his memory.
