Nevin A. Billig, 78, of Mohrsville, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp. Nevin was the husband of Mary E. (Zipp) Billig.
Born in New Tripoli, he was the son of the late Stanley A. and Minnie (Burkhart) Billig. Nevin was a carpenter and millwright, working at a few different construction businesses in the area. Nevin was a member of Local Carpenter's Union #492, and Plow Boys Antique Tractor Club. He enjoyed antique tractors, cars, and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Al S. Billig, fiancé of Deb Bittner, Leesport; one daughter: Mary Ann (Billig), wife of Mark Franklin, Mohrsville; five grandchildren: Samantha, Hannah, Matthew, Max, and Hunter. Nevin is also survived by one brother: Stanley Billig, New Tripoli; one sister: Helen (Billig), wife of Steve Deutsch, Allentown, and one sister-in-law; Shirley Billig, Mohrsville. Nevin was predeceased by a daughter, Amy B. Billig, who died March 24, 2012; one brother Elmer Billig, and one sister, Mary (Billig) Leiby.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in Birch Hill Cemetery, Perry Twp.
