Miles C. Swanger, 96, formerly of Leesport, died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp., shortly after arrival. He was taken there from the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., where he resided for six years.

Born in Annville, he was the son of the late Miles C. Swanger and Carrie (Barr) Swanger Seiger. He was a graduate of Perry High School. Miles worked for nineteen years as a truck driver for the former Burgmeyer Bros., Reading, retiring in 1977.

Miles is survived by one daughter: Linda J., wife of Larry L. West, Hyde Park; one granddaughter: Lisa J., wife of Stephen Geisinger; and two great-grandsons: Nicholas and Austin Geisinger. He was predeceased by a brother: John E. Swanger.

Graveside services will be held on Friday at 2:00 pm from Ebenezer Cemetery, Perry Twp. with Pastor John P. Haag officiating.
