Mildred L. Francis, 94, of Hamburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in her residence. She was the wife of Carl A. Francis. They were married on January 2, 1943 and celebrated seventy-two years of marriage.

Born in Greenwich Twp., she was the daughter of the late Calvin A. and Annie (Bachman) Dietrich. She was a 1939 graduate of Hamburg High School. Mildred worked as a bookkeeper for Fairmount Foundry, Hamburg, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. Mildred was a member of the former Women's Club of Hamburg. She enjoyed traveling.

Surviving in addition to her husband is one son: Richard C. Francis, husband of Sharon E. (Wagner) Francis, Windsor Twp.; one daughter: Della M. Francis, Hamburg; four grandchildren: Carrie (Francis), wife of Cameron Bailey, Winter Park, Florida; Eric Francis; Tracy Francis; and Annie Francis; all of Windsor Twp., and one great-grandson: Rhys. Mildred was predeceased by two brothers: Ralph and Leroy Dietrich; and one sister: Laila (Dietrich) Gilfert.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
