Michael J. "Mick" Thompson, Sr., 67, of Tilden Twp., passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of Jean T. (Wann) Thompson. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Ceicel H. Thompson, Sr., and the late Bridgetta J. (Foley) Thompson. He graduated from Oley Valley High School in 1972. Mick worked as a tree service trimmer and foreman for Asplundh. He also had a lifelong passion for music, and was a talented singer and musician, with guitar being his instrument of choice. He was an inspiration to many musicians and admired by all who watched him perform. He enjoyed performing with the following bands throughout his life; Hot Ice, Mickey and the Poor Boys, The Generations, Thunder, Full Tilt, Proper Madness, and Somebody's Circus - his final band with his son Mickey. He is survived by a son: Michael J. "Mickey" Thompson, Jr, fiance of Jamie Wagner, Fleetwood; three daughters: Michelle Thompson-Pyle, Birdsboro, Justine E. Thompson, Tilden Twp., and Brittany J. Dailey, wife of Matthew Dailey, Hamburg; three grandchildren: Gavin Thompson, Kameron Casko, and Colby Pyle; and a brother: Daniel "Danny" Thompson, Sinking Spring. He was predeceased by a granddaughter: Lillian Casko; two brothers: Ceicel "Tom" , and Ronald Thompson, and a sister: Bridget Barto. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 4:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526. Viewings will be held Sunday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and Monday 9:00 to 10:00 am. Following the viewing on Monday, a procession will leave the funeral home for the burial at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
