Melva R. Lesniak, 87, formerly of Centerport, a resident at Berks Heim, died Saturday, August 10, 2024 in Berks Heim. She was the wife of the late John J. Lesniak died March 5, 2001.

Born in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of the late Beulah E. (Pressley) Giffin. She worked for 20 years at Berks County Intermediate Unit for 20 years as Transportation Coordinator, last working in 1980. She later worked as an assistant supervisor at Friendly's in Allentown for 11 years before retiring in 2001.

She is survived by a son: Daniel R. Rutt, Centerport; a daughter: Debbie L. Kershner, wife of Timothy L. Kershner, Campton, NH; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters: Linda (Griffin) Phipps, Easley, SC, and Gwen (Griffin) Gibbens, Charlotte, NC.
