Obituary
Mathews West, 61, of Rehrersburg, died of natural causes on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 7:45 am in his residence.
Born in Ocala, Florida, he was the son of the late Rev. Alexander, Sr., and Ellen (Adams) West. Mathews was a member of The Bridge Church, Hamburg.
Mathews is survived by two brothers: Rev. Alexander West (Ann), Flint, Michigan; and Sgt. Major Charles West (Katie), in Kentucky; and four sisters: Vernell Fuller (Earl Sr.); Marshey Wilson; Winifred Douglas; and Mary Francis Smith, all of Flint, Michigan. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers: Melford and Alfred Lee West; and one niece: Carmen West.
Services will be on Thursday at 7:00 pm from The Bridge Church, 3561 Old Route 22, Hamburg. Burial will be private. A viewing will be held in the church Thursday 5:30 to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Teen Challenge Training Center, P.O. Box 98, Rehrersburg, PA 19550, in memory of Mathews West.
