Maryann D. Mahoney, 64, of Bernville, PA, passed away in her residence on Thursday, January 5, 2023. She was the wife of Thomas J. Mahoney. They were married on April 30, 1988 and celebrated thirty-four years of marriage.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Tiofa and Mary (Mello) Arruda. Maryann received a Bachelor's Degree from Rhode Island College. She was a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital; and then became the CEO of Clinical IV Network in Pawtucket. After moving to Pennsylvania, Maryann volunteered for Berks Encore preparing taxes for the elderly and disabled. She was the tax supervisor for 3 of their centers. Maryann was involved with several senior dog rescues, especially Senior Dog Haven and Hospice of Delaware. She was a supporter of rescuing dogs. Maryann enjoyed cooking, baking, animals and singing. She was a member of the choir at Holy Apostles Church in Rhode Island.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter: Jane G. Mahoney, Bernville. She has a sister: Elaine Varone and was predeceased by two siblings: Ronald T. Arruda and Susan B. Terrien.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00 am from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg, PA. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery, Reading.
