Mary E. Reed, 83, of Ontelaunee Twp., died, Sunday, May 18, 2014 in her residence. She was the wife of Daniel E. Reed, who died March 28, 1986. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Harry N. and Matilda (Stamm) Shade. Mary was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church, Ontelaunee Twp. She was also a member of the Pike Township Sportsman's Club. Mary enjoyed crocheting and dancing. Mary is survived by one daughter: Diane F. (Reed), wife of Robert F. Harris, Mont Alto,PA; two granddaughters: Danielle M. Strine and Lauren M. Sulouff; two great-granddaughters: Aurora and Celeste Strine; and one sister: Geraldine, wife of Donald Wayne, West Leesport. She was predeceased by a son: Dennis B. Reed, who died August 21, 2012; two brothers: Harry N. Shade, Jr., and Merritt C. Shade; and one step-brother: William S. Lengel. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will be private in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Saturday 10:30 to 11:30 am.
