Mary Ada Gregor, 87, formerly of Shoemakersville, died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in Brereton Manor, Lancaster Co., where she resided since November 2010. She was the wife of Edward Gregor, died May 24, 2006. Born in Shoemakersville, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ada (Fister) Greenawalt. She was a 1943 graduate of Perry High School. Mary Ada received a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Pennsylvania State University; and received a Degree in Elementary Education from Kutztown University. She taught Kindergarten for twenty-five years for the Perry Elementary School of the Hamburg Area School District. Mary Ada was a member of the Hamburg and Schuylkill Valley Retired Teachers Association; and a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. She was an active member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville where she was a former choir member, Sunday School teacher, and member of the Women's Guild. Mary Ada is survived by two daughters: Janet S. (Gregor) Colton, Clifton Park, New York; and Joni K. (Gregor), wife of Harold L. Godshall, Lancaster; three granddaughter: Amy, wife of Jamie Gish; Kelli, wife of Kevin Martin; and Meghan Colton; and two great-grandchildren: Isabella and Ethan. She was predeceased by a brother: Alton Greenawalt. Services will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 pm from St. Luke's Church, Fifth and Franklin Streets, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held on Tuesday 6:00 to 7:30 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport and on Wednesday 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the church.
