Obituary

Marvin J. Hess, 84, of Windsor Twp., died March 8, 2011 in Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. His wife, Joan A. (Brown) Hess, died June 12, 1997. Born in Windsor Twp., he was the son of the late George R. and Bertha E. (Adams) Hess. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Marvin worked as a sander for Quaker Maid Kitchens. He was a member of Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg, where he served as Commander for two years. He was also a member of Loyal Order of Moose #523, Hamburg, for thirty-three years. Marvin enjoyed stock car, watching NASCAR, and playing pool. Surviving is one daughter: Betty J. (Hess) Stoudt, Windsor Twp. and with whom he last resided, one grandson; and one brother: Earl Hess, in Virginia. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 am to 12:00 noon at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Loyal Order of Moose service will be at 12:00 noon followed by a time of remembrance. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
