Marvin A. Boyer, "Lightning", 85, of Rockland Twp., passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 in the Berks Heim. He was the husband of Lois A. (Ernst) Boyer, who died in 2005.
Born in West Wyomissing, Marvin was the son of the late Arthur C. and Eliza (Anspach) Boyer. He was a 1958 graduate of Wilson High School. Marvin worked at Columbian Cutlery, Reading. He also worked at Russ Mobile, Leesport. Marvin was a member of Fleetwood Bible Church. He was a member of the Nomad Sportsman Club, Northumberland Co.; and Smith Camp, Cross Fork. He was also a member of the Leesport Fire Company. Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, tinkering and collecting.
Marvin is survived by his daughters: Susan M. (Boyer) Melcher, wife of Timothy Melcher, Rockland Twp.; and Jill L. (Boyer) Heckman, Shillington; two grandsons: Matthew R. Melcher and Michael S. Melcher; and three great-grandchildren: Ryan, Caleb and Emma. He was predeceased by his siblings: Norman Boyer, Arlene Miller, Joan Wenrich and Janice Blatt.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
