Marla J. Fouse, 74, of Mohrsville, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013 in St. Joseph Medical Center surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was the wife of Ronald W. Fouse, died January 12, 2011. Born in Vandergrift, West Moreland County, she was the daughter of the late Glenn R. and Allene (Theiss) Knabb. Marla was a 1956 graduate of Vandergrift High School and a 1959 graduate of Citizens General Hospital Nursing School, New Kensington. She worked as a registered nurse for seventeen years for the Reading Hospital. Marla last worked for twenty years as a school nurse for Reading-Muhlenberg Vo-Tech, retiring in 2000. Marla was an active member of Grace Fellowship Church, Mohnton. She loved her church. She also loved her grandchildren and attending their sporting events. She was their biggest supporter, fan, and cheerleader. Marla was not just a mother to her immediate family, but her doors and heart were always open to so many others who knew her as "Mom" and "Grandma". Marla is survived by three sons: Darren R. Fouse, husband of Nancie Simonet-Fouse, Milford, PA; David G. Fouse, husband of Lee Ann (Kiscadden) Fouse, Mohrsville; and Michael Barniak, husband of Petra Barniak, Wilmington, Delaware; one daughter: Denise L. (Fouse), wife of Nelson Torres, Mohrsville; and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother: Kenneth Knabb, and his wife Patricia, Leechburg, PA; and one sister: Nanci (Knabb) Snyder, Clarion, PA. Marla was predeceased by one brother: Robert Knabb. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at 3:00 pm from Grace Fellowship Church, 622 Old Lancaster Pike, Shillington, PA 19607. Marla's request is that everyone attending please wear "Black and Gold" - "Go Steelers!". A private family burial will be held in Laureldale Cemetery.
