Mark E. Stewart, 70, of Tilden Twp., died upon arrival at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp., on Sunday, December 11, 2011. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Prutzman) Stewart. They were married on June 22, 1963 and celebrated 48 years of marriage.
Born in Windsor Twp., he was the son of the late Charles T. and Mabel E. (Kohler) Stewart. Mark worked as a molder and then a foreman for Fairmount Foundry, Hamburg, for more than 40 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Windsor Twp. Mark loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Brenda L. (Stewart), wife of Merick J. Boyer, Kutztown; one son: Lee A., husband of Shellie R. (Bausher) Stewart, Strausstown; and four grandchildren: Wyeth and Ethan Boyer and Elianna and Quaid Stewart. Mark is also survived by two brothers: Samuel E. Stewart, Wyomissing Hills; and Thomas E. Stewart, Breinigsville; and five sisters: Lillian L. (Stewart), wife of Michael Hopko, Orwigsburg; Margaret M. (Stewart), widow of Charles Donne, Tilden Twp.; Mabel M. (Stewart), widow of Donald Stoudt, Tilden Twp.; Marrietta J. (Stewart), widow of Kenneth Himmelberger, Hamburg; and Martha E. (Stewart), wife of Richard Kohler, Shoemakersville.
Services will be on Friday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp.
