Obituary

Mark S. Seaman, 94, of Tilden Twp., died Friday, October 3, 2014 in the Laurel Center. He was the husband of Esther M. (Brobst) Seaman, died October 6, 2011.

Born in Centre Twp., he was the son of the late John K. and E. Naomi (Sheidy) Seaman. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mark was very proud of the decorations and citations that he was awarded while in the military. He received a Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and a European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with five bronze stars and one bronze arrowhead. He worked as operations manager at Agway in Temple for 10 years, and previously worked for Franklin S. Kirst Inc., Hamburg for 26 years. Mark was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. He was a former councilman and secretary at St. Michael's, and served as assistant treasurer for St. Michael's Sunday School. He was a former secretary of Tilden Twp. School Board, and was assistant treasurer of Blue Mt. Senior Citizens. Mark was a member of Vaux Lodge No. 406 F&A.M., and Behler-Hein Post No. 637 American Legion, Hamburg.

Surviving are two sons: Donald M. Seaman, and his wife Jill, of Dauphin; and Ronald M. Seaman, and his wife Holly, of Shartlesvillle; two grandchildren: Adrian D. Seaman, Kutztown; and Joanna L. Seaman, Enola; and two great-grandchildren: Wesley and Jorjanne. He is also survived by a sister: Irene S. (Seaman) Birkenbine, of Strausstown. Mark was predeceased by three brothers: Ray, John, Jr., and Stanley Seaman; and two sisters: Luella (Seaman) Billman, and Helen (Seaman) Delcamp.

Services will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off-street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A visitation will be held 1:30 to 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home.
