Schaeffer
January 17, 1949 – February 24, 2025
Marie E. Schaeffer, 76, of Windsor Twp., passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 in her residence. She was the wife of Richard M. Schaeffer, who died December 3, 2021.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Mary (Gruber) Boger. Marie was a 1966 graduate of Northwestern Lehigh High School. She first worked at Hamburg Knitting Mills. Since 1972, Marie was the secretary of the family business with her husband Richard, RM Schaeffer, LLC. She was a member of Frieden's Church, Lenhartsville; and its Women's Guild. Marie was also a 59-year member of Virginville Grange #1832, where she was a Jr. grange leader and women's activity chairperson. She enjoyed helping at banquets, food stands at fairs and the Kutztown Folk Festival. Marie especially enjoyed watching her grandkids and spending time with them.
Marie is survived by her children: Faye M. (Schaeffer) Heckman, Hamburg; and Allen R. Schaeffer, husband of Tracy (Kramer) Schaeffer, Perry Twp.; and four grandchildren: Veronica, Brayden, Carisa and Otto. She is also survived by her sister: Eleanor Daniels, Allentown. Marie was predeceased by her brothers: Kermit, Lee and Earl Boger.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the caregivers who spent the last months with Marie. They brought joy and peace to her day.
Services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 am from Frieden's Church, 1512 Old 22, Lenhartsville. A viewing will be held on Thursday, tonight, February 27, 2025, 6:30 to 8:00 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear) and Friday 9:00 to 10:00 am at the church. Burial will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Frieden's Cemetery, Lenhartsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Frieden's Cemetery Association, P.O.
