Margaret Ann Aldridge, "Peg", 95, formerly of Tilden Twp., died Friday, May 20, 2011 at 1:45 pm in Orwigsburg Center, Orwigsburg, where she resided for seven years. Her husband, Harvey E. "Henry" Aldridge, died March 10, 1989.

Born in Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (Sherpensky) Besparis. Peg and her husband owned and operated the American Hotel in Hamburg from 1959-1970. She first worked at the Hamburg Sanitorium from 1930-1937; she then was a beautician in Pottsville from 1940 to 1950; and last worked in the dietary department of the Hamburg Center from 1970 until retiring in 1977. Peg was a life-long member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Twp. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hamburg Fire Company; member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg; Hamburg Senior Citizens; a former member of St. Mary's Alter Society; and former member of Hamburg B.P.W. (Business and Professional Women).

Peg is survived by a daughter: Gloria A. (Aldridge), wife of John F. Wetzel, Windsor Twp.; one grandson: Zachary M. Aldridge; and one great-grandson: Carter M. Aldridge. She was predeceased by a son: Michael E. Aldridge, died October 13, 2002; two brothers: Albert and William Besparis; and one sister: Frances Bernat.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 am from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Road, Hamburg. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
