Madelyn Vivian Pfister, passed away on October 21, 2018 in Glendale, California at the age of 94. Madelyn was born on September 15, 1924 to Walter and Mabel Christ in Strausstown. After graduating from Hamburg High School, Class of 1942, she moved to Philadelphia and then to New York City where she remained the rest of her life. She started out working as a secretary for the Sun Oil Company where she stayed for thirty years. She then went on to work at Sports Illustrated Magazine, where she worked in the promotion department. She absolutely love this job because it took her all over the country where she was able to attend all the major sporting events, from the Super Bowl to four different Olympic Games. She retired in 1996 and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren in California and dining out in various restaurants as well as traveling all over the world on her own. She is survived by her daughter Susan Reiner of Los Angeles, son-in-law Jeffrey Reiner, grandson Evan and granddaughter Lily. Her sister Gladys Bailey predeceased her in 2017. Madelyn will be buried on June 29 at 1:30 at Strausstown Union Cemetery.
