Luella M. Rubright, 88, of Shoemakersville, died Saturday, June 30, 2012 in Pinebrook Personal Care Center, Orwigsburg, where she resided since February. Her husband, Sterling W. Rubright, died March 4, 2005.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas A. and Virgie A. (Schappell) Miller. She was a 1941 graduate of Hamburg High School. Luella worked for twenty-seven years in the cafeteria kitchen of Perry Elementary School, Shoemakersville, until retiring in 1986. She was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was a former den mother of Cub Pack 183, Shoemakersville.
Luella is survived by three sons: Terry L. Rubright, Windsor Twp.; Thomas A. Rubright, and his spouse, Betty, Perry Twp.; and David S. Rubright, and his wife Cindy, Palmyra; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Also surviving is one brother: Kenneth L. Miller, and his wife LaRue, Hamburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Tuesday at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
