Lori A. Berger, 45, of Upper Tulpehocken Twp., died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp., shortly after arrival. She was the wife of Donald S. Berger. They were married on July 16, 1983 and celebrated 28 years of marriage.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of Larry Fields, Penn Twp.; and Sheryl M. (Ehrnfeldt) Stripling, Upper Tulpehocken Twp. Lori graduated from Reading Area Community College in 2008 with an Associate's Degree in Nursing. She was a registered nurse in the orthopedic trauma unit of the Reading Hospital. Lori was a member of the American Nursing Association and the NSO. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are three sons: Steven D. Berger; Troy R. Berger; and Derek S. Berger, all of Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; one daughter: Bobby Jo (Berger), wife of Joel Herflicker, Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; and two grandchildren: Kaitlin Rose and Mason Gage Herflicker. Lori is also survived by her step-father: Willard J. Stripling, Jr., Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; two brothers: Keith L. Stripling; and Willard L. Stripling, III, both of Hamburg; and two sisters: Lea A. (Fields) Fenstermacher, Mertztown; and Lyn A. (Fields) Williams, Hamburg.
A memorial visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear).
