Linda S. Weitzel, 77, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away Monday, August 3, 2026. She was the wife of Richard M. Weitzel. They were married March 1, 1969 and celebrated 57 years of marriage.Born in Tilden Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph S. and Mabel C. (Seyfert) Mengel. Linda graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1966. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. Linda worked as a driver for Berks County Intermediate Unit for 28 years; retiring in 2011. She enjoyed traveling on cruises, and attending senior meetings. She was a member of Laureldale Seniors, Shoemakersville Seniors, and People over 50.Surviving in addition to her husband is a son: Bradley S. Weitzel, husband of Christi L. (Sensenig), Laureldale; a daughter: Melissa S. (Weitzel) Button, wife of Tim, Palmyra; and two granddaughters: Tiffany A. Weitzel, and Samantha A. Weitzel. She is also survived by a brother: Terry L. Mengel, husband of MaryEllen, Leesport; and a sister: Barbara A. (Mengel) Savage, wife of Marvin, Blandon. She was predeceased by her brothers: Donald, Richard, James, and Harold Mengel; and her sisters: Jean (Mengel) Miller, Joan (Mengel) Miller, and Shirley (Mengel) Herring.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 10:30 am from St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be sent to: St. Michael's Church Memorial Fund at the above address or Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County at 529 Reading Avenue, Suite C, West Reading, PA 19611.
