Obituary

Linda L. Evans, 83, of Jefferson Twp., died Monday, June 29, 2026 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Charles M. "Chick" Evans, III. They married on May 26, 1974 and celebrated 52 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Jacob L. and Betty L. (Huntsberger) DeLong. She graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1961 and later received a bachelor's degree from Kutztown University in 1965. Linda worked in the back office of Sovereign Bank for many years until her retirement. She was a skilled crafter who loved to paint, especially on slate, and made all kinds of greeting cards. She enjoyed riding horses with her husband; she was a great equestrian.

She is survived by her husband and three sons: Michael L. Snyder, husband of Kelly, Temple, David L. Snyder, Pine Grove, and Charles M. "Chad" Evans, IV, husband of Cassie, Darlington, SC; a daughter: Rebecca M. (Evans) Hohl, wife of Pete, Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her brother, Douglas L. DeLong.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in the rear). Private burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens at a later date. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home.
